Performance of local and local x improved chicken crosses under semi-intensive management system in Northern Uganda

Despite the efforts to improve Uganda’s chicken production through crossbreeding, limited research has been conducted establish performance of local x improved crosses under dominant management systems used by rearing households. The current study aimed assess semi-intensive system in Pader and Agago districts Northern Uganda, where crossing with imported Kuroiler chickens promoted over time. A cross-sectional survey using a semi-structured pre-tested questionnaire observation was two purposively selected sub-counties per district among 246 respondents sociodemographic characteristics farmers reasons for crossing.
